 Set up and test run Minivane 
Clean and lube all minivane extensions/ blades 
Set up, test, WD 40 on Torvane (geotech cruise only-- NO WD-40 for geochem!!) 
Set up the liner racks in lab with bungee cords to hold cores 
Set up liner troughs and secure to deck - put high-vis tape on the legs.  They are a trip hazard - especially in the dark. 
Set up black crates on deck with rods and caps, secure to deck 
Clean, lube and store all equipment: Unwrap and rat tail black and white tape
 Cut wax paper into quarters
 Check, clean and lube liner cutters - make sure blade is new
 Set up coolers with inventory sheets
 Set up spreadsheet and customize to job- double check spring set calibrations
 Check camera (test it) and memory cards, reader, plenty of batteries
 Make sure entire lab can be secured for rough seas and plan ahead - eye hooks in wall, bungees, ropes, etc.

Set up Crock pot - test and bungee to cabinet 
 Set up geochem station:
	Make sure Nitrogen is flowing and valve works
 Mount extruder to the bench
 Attach the can holders to the bench
Mix up poison (BKC?) 
If possible, lube first section of trough - so it will swivel after cutting liner
 
Set up Minivane basket or PC caddy 
Make enough push tubes for the project and bevel the ends 
Locate and inventory the 3 inch liner cutter repair kit.  Make sure you have enough blades, cutters and spare parts to finish the job.  ---------Calculations----------- 
One roll tape per JPC section – full 64 ft core will have 21- 22 sections 
Piston cores will have 6 sections if full – plan on 2 rolls white and 2 rolls black per core 
Meter box core – estimate 39 inches to bot of  box and another poss. 6 inches for scoop.  ( do NOT mv into scoop)  Readings are every four inches – need two sets of mv extensions and cones 
Regular box core is 20 inches deep- readings every 2 inches |
